Day 1: Murchison Falls National Park
Start early morning and drive to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala via Bombo road. On your way, you will pass through Luweero town. Maintain the same route and branch off at Masindi Hotel for lunch. Check out Budongo forest and Kaniyo Pabidi. When you reach the park, drive directly to the Top of the falls, an eye-catching feature where you can easily spot the most powerful rush of water anywhere in the world behind. Day 2: Wildlife Safari at Murchison Falls
Begin early with a game drive in the Northern Delta Nile where you may see lions, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffe, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. Shortly take a launch cruise and enjoy the water wildlife .you will spot schools of hippos and some of the largest crocodiles ever lived, herds of buffaloes and elephants drinking water. There is rich birdlife on the papyrus banks such as the shoebill stork, papyrus gonolek among others. Day 3: Chimp Trekking in Budongo Forest
Get up early, after breakfast head for chimp trekking in Budongo forest which takes about 3-5 hrs. Budongo forest is identified by its exclusive Mahogany tree species, so tall and unhampered. There are also several primates like the red-tailed monkeys, blue monkey, and potto and forest galago species and bird species such as the yellow-footed eye catcher, white-thighed hornbill. Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Kibale National Park. You will drive via the Albertine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road. This will be a long drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal, passing though verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. Day 4: Chimp Trekking in Kibale
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Return to Ndali Lodge (luxury)/Primates Safari Lodge (budget) afterwards.
Day 5: Kampala
Early morning after enjoying your breakfast, return to Kampala and that will mark the end of this trip.
