Day 1: Transfer to Kibaale
Kibale Forest; Home to 13 primate species (5-6hours) After breakfast, you will depart Kampala for Kibale Forest National park passing via the Nakayima tree in Mubende and arriving in the afternoon. Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. Dinner and overnight at Crater safari lodge.
Day 2: Chimp tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP – Game drive
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee briefing by the forest guide. You will locate the chimps by listening for their pant hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. You will see more other primates such as the red colobus, black and white colobus and the red-tailed monkey. After lunch, transfer to queen Elizabeth National park. (3- 4 hours) You will have a brief game drive in Kasenyi as you head to the lodge for dinner and overnight Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 3: Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (5-6hours)
After an early breakfast, you will go for a boat cruise in Kazinga Channel boat Cruise along the kazinga channel between lakes Edward and George. This is the best place to see a cross section of all the wildlife in this park as well as a number of birds. You will also visit the katwe salt mining lake. You will later transfer to and transfer you to the northern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable rain forest for gorilla tracking. (4- 5 hours) The beautiful scenery referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa” will be a big spectacle as you traverse the vast country side. Arrive early enough in Buhoma. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi, Batwa community visit and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Get up early at 6:00 and report to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the senior park ranger guide. You will then set out to track the gentle giants through thick vegetation as you hike up and down slippery slopes. Be vigilant to listen to their vocal communications and follow them until you finally come eye-eye with them. An hour with them is a guarantee as you observe and learn their habits while taking photos. It is an extraordinary feeling, sitting in the dense rain-forest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. In the afternoon if time allows, you will later go for a Batwa visit where you will discover more about the Batwa – pygmy people. There after transfer to Volcanoes National park. Meals and overnight at Five Volcanoes Hotel
Day 5: Golden monkey tracking and cultural visit
In the morning, you will report to the park headquarters with your tracking gear for briefing about golden monkey tracking and then proceed to track these rare monkeys. You will later return to the Lodge and later go for a cultural tour to Ibyiwacu village to get a deep insight into the Rwandan culture. Meals and overnight at Five Volcanoes Hotel
Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali
After a relaxed breakfast you will transfer to Kigali arriving early afternoon. You will have a Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali Genocide memorial, local markets and other places of interest before you head to Kigali airport for departure at 9:55 pm.
