Travelers from Uganda can now fly direct from Entebbe international airport to Moi International airport at the Coastal town of Mombasa, Kenya. On 11th November 2019, Uganda Airlines successfully launched its first direct flight to Mombasa. Bombardier CRJ900 jet flight UR 342 set off from Entebbe airport at 11:30 am and landed at Moi Airport at 1:40 pm. In total, the flight had 74 passengers on board who included Prof Ephraim Kamuntu, the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Jean Byamugisha, the CEO of Uganda Hotel Owners Association, Lily Ajarova, the CEO of Uganda Tourism Board, Gloria Tumwesigye, the CEO of Association of Uganda Tour Operators (AUTO) plus other business passengers that were traveling to Mombasa. The newly launched direct flights between Uganda and Kenya will surely ease connectivity between the two countries giving travelers the chance to beauties of Magical Kenya and the Pearl of Africa. DETAILED ITINERARY FOR BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI
Day 1: Depart Kampala to Bwindi
Depart from Kampala at 7:00 am and head towards southwestern Uganda. A brief stop at the Equator allows you time for photographs and refreshments as well as a visit to the craft shops.
The journey affords you views of the long horned Ankole cattle in Mbarara, the rolling hills, terraced landscapes and the beautiful panorama of Kabale. We have a lunch break en route in Mbarara with an option of visiting the Igongo cultural center to experience the Ankole culture. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable park and arrive late evening. Overnight at Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community bandas ( HB)
Day 2: Trekking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi NP
After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes for a 30 minutes to 8 hours trek in search for the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. This strenuous quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures – the mountain gorillas.
Upon encountering these awesome primates, a full hour will be left to you to interact with them as you observe and learn their behavior; take photos and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Forest – Kampala
After breakfast, transfer to Mbarara traversing the magnificent scenery of Kabale, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Upon completion of the gorilla adventure, transfer back to Kampala arriving in the evening at the hotel of your choice or onward transfer to Entebbe for your departure flight.
