This 4 Days Uganda chimpanzee safari takes you to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee watching. Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a wildlife project managed by the Jane Goodall Institute, designed to provide safe and long-term care for the “liberated” chimpanzees. An excursion to the Ngamba Island offers an amazing opportunity to watch the chimpanzees closely. The trip later takes you to Kibale Forest, the most popular place in Africa to go chimpanzee tracking. The forest is home to not only chimpanzees but also to 12 other primate species and a wide range of other flora and fauna.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Ngamba islands
By 0800 hrs be at UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Educational Centre)/ Entebbe Zoo. The Island guide will meet you to brief you about the Island. You will be transferred from land by a motor speedboat to the island. You will ride across the shores of Lake Victoria the second largest fresh water in the world. Crossing over to Ngamba Islandtakes 45 minutes. Welcome to Ngamba Island, home to 39-orphaned chimpanzees! After arriving, you begin off with one fascinating activity. It is feeding time! Watch the chimps interact with each other and feed. You will notice we as humans have so much in common with these lovely creatures like the way they grab food, eat and chew it, clap among other behaviors. In the evening, you will return to the land at Entebbe, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. If time allows check out the animals in the zoo and return to Kampala. Day 2: transfer to Kibale National Park
Depart for Kibale national Park that is just four hrs away. Kibale national Park is famous for having the highest concentration and variety of primates in East Africa with 13 species and overall 60 mammal species and so far offers the best excellent chimpanzee tracking in Uganda. Dine and sleep in Primates Lodge (Luxury)/ Mountains of the Moon/ Rwenzori Guesthouse (budget) FB.
Day 3: chimpanzee tracking in Kanyanchu
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Return to Primates Lodge (Luxury)/ Mountains of the Moon/ Rwenzori Guesthouse (budget) FB afterwards.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer back to Kampala. Make a stopover in Fort Portal where you will take lunch and continue to Kampala. This marks the end of the end of trip
