Day 1: Ngamba islands
By 0800 hrs be at UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Educational Centre)/ Entebbe Zoo. The Island guide will meet you to brief you about the Island. You will be transferred from land by a motor speedboat to the island. You will ride across the shores of Lake Victoria the second largest fresh water in the world. Crossing over to Ngamba Island takes 45 minutes. Welcome to Ngamba Island, home to 39-orphaned chimpanzees! After arriving, you begin off with one fascinating activity. It is feeding time! Watch the chimps interact with each other and feed. You will notice we as humans have so much in common with these lovely creatures like the way they grab food, eat and chew it, clap among other behaviors. In the evening, you will return to the land at Entebbe, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. If time allows check out the animals in the zoo and return to Kampala.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Head off to Murchison Falls National Park starting in Kampala via Bombo road that should take you about 5 hours. On your way, you will see the legendary Luweero triangle, today is a small town with a trading center recognized for its agonizing past during Obote’s regime. Continue and branch off at Masindi Hotel for lunch. You will pass through Budongo forest and Kaniyo Pabidi. When you reach the park, drive directly to the Top of the falls, such a pretty site for appreciating the mighty River Nile and the most powerful rush of water anywhere in the world behind. Day 3: Enjoy Murchison Falls
Set off for an early game view drive on the Northern Delta Nile. Lions, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffe, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. Soon you can take a launch cruise on the Murchison falls in about two hrs. Spot schools of some of the largest hippos and crocodiles, small herds of buffalo. There is rich birdlife on the papyrus banks, watch out for the shoebill stork, the most sought after bird in Africa. Go to the Top of the falls, such a lovely scene for viewing the fall, park as well taking lunch or relaxing. Camp or lodge at Sambiya Lodge (budget) / Red Chili/ Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury) FB.
Day 4: Chimp Tracking in Budongo forest
Get up early, after breakfast head for chimp trekking in Budongo forest which takes about 3-5 hrs. Budongo forest is also identified for its exclusive Mahogany tree species, so tall and unhampered. There are also several primates like the red-tailed monkeys, blue monkey, and potto and forest galago species and bird species such as the yellow-footed eye catcher, white-thighed hornbill. Proceed to Kampala in the afternoon.
