Detailed 7 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Kampala to Kibale forest national Park
From Kampala to Kibale is 358km and 7hr drive. Drive early from Kampala city heading west past Mityana and continue to Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. Catch a glimpse of the Toro Kingdom palace, the Royal tombs the mosque, many shops and eating-places but continue to Kibale, just a few kilometers ahead. When you reach, check in at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge. Kibale national park has the highest concentration of primates in East Africa including chimps, black and white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and baboons. Go for an afternoon primate walk to Kanyanchu river camp, the most popular walk in the park. It highlights a miscellany of flora and fauna within the forest. Return to Ndali Lodge/Primates Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Rise up early to track chimps in Kibale Forest National Park. This can take you half a day. There are other primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. In the evening, you will transfer to queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Marafiki Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Day 4: Ishasha game drives & Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
You will have a morning breakfast before going for a game drive through the ishasha sector. The southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park is famous for the tree climbing lions. Have lunch enroute and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs/Bwindi lodge/ Buhoma Lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies
You will have a morning breakfast and transfer to the national park headquarters for briefing before embarking on gorilla trekking. Hiking in the jungle may last from 30 minutes to hours depending on the location and movement of the gorillas.On reaching the gorillas, you will spend an hour as you take photographs ad observe their unique characters. In the evening, you will visit Batwa pygmies, the traditional dwellers of the forest before gorilla tourism was introduced. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs/Bwindi lodge/ Buhoma Lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Tour the islands
After breakfast traverse the scenic Kigezi highlands to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is another major tourist stopover that is undeniably amazing. The word Bunyonyi means “small birds” in direct translation which means that the lake is a must stopover for committed birders and besides that its serpentine shape and numerous islands other highlights one must look out for.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala
Take breakfast at leisure and return to Kampala.
