Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, a representatives from our company displaying a placard bearing your names will be pleased to receive you and transfer you to Volcanoes national park. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / La Palme / Hotel Muhabura – Meal Plan: Full Board (FB)
Day 02: Mountain gorilla Tracking in PNV
After breakfast, the driver will transfer you the park headquarters for briefing from the park ranger. You will be allocated a gorilla group for tracking. It takes some vigilance from your guide to convince the park warden to allocate you a group of your choice. More often most guests prefer certain groups depending on their proximity from starting point of the hike or the size of the gorilla family. In the evening, you will be treated to the rich cultural songs and dance from the Banyarwanda Intore Dancers. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / La Palme / Hotel Muhabura – Meal Plan: Full Board (FB)
Day 3: Visit Dian Fossey’s Grave
Enjoy your breakfast early enough and embark on a hike to the Dian Fossey Research centre and Grave Yard. It is here that the famous primatologist Dr. Dian Fossey spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Return for lunch at your lodge before transferin to Kigali city. Overnight stay at Serena Hotel Kigali / The Garr Hotel – meal Plan: Dinner and Breakfast
Day 4: Transfer to the National Museum – Butare
After a delicious morning breakfast transfer southwards to Butare presently renamed Huye district. Pay a visit to the national museum for more in-depth exposure to Rwandan history, culture and art crafts. Relax at Hotel Ibis for your lunch before proceeding to Nyungwe Forest Lodge for your overnight stay. Meal Plan: Full Board.
Day 05: Chimpanzee trekking
After an early morning breakfast transfer to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing from the park warden. At 8.30 am you will begin the hike into the lush tropical rain forest. The forest is endowed with abundant mammals and forest birds. Big troops of Angola colobus monkeys and chimpanzees are a big spectacle in this montane forest. Dinner and overnight at the luxurious Nyungwe Forest Lodge – Meal plan: Full Board
Day 6: visit Genocide Memorial
After breakfast transfer back to Kigali en route visiting the Nyanza King’s palace. This is a highlight of this day. In the afternoon visit the Gisozi memorial site in Kigali. Overnight stay at Hotel Serena / Hotel Mille Colline – meal plan: Lunch, Dinner and breakfast.
DAY 07: End of Rwanda Safari
Morning transfer to the airport for flight back home.
