A 6 day Uganda Gorilla, chimps and Wildlife Tour itinerary offers you an opportunity to look into the eyes of the endangered Mountain Gorilla in the dense forests of Bwindi NP and see an assortment of the savannah wildlife and Chimpanzees in Queen Elizabeth NP. It is tailor-made and therefore subject to adjustment upon the client’s request to accommodate special interests. The tour starts from Entebbe airport to Kampala, Bwindi NP, Queen Elizabeth NP and Ends in either Entebbe or Kampala depending on the client’s departure schedule guided by Africa Adventure Safaris

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi NP
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed by our company guide who will transfer you to Kampala for refreshment and overnight stay Sheraton/ La Petit Village/ Nexus Resort.
Day 2: Kampala- Bwindi NP
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi National park in the south western part of the country. You will have a brief stop at the Equator for the water experiment and a visit to the craft shops. Continue to Mbarara for a lunch stop and have a chance of an en route glance at the Ankole long horned cows in Sanga and an opportunity to delve through the Ankole culture at the Igongo cultural center. Proceed to Kabale also known as the Switzerland of Africa with magnificent rolling hills adorned with terraces. You will then arrive in Bwindi in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Bakiga lodge/ Mahogany springs
Day 3: Gorilla tracking
Take an early morning breakfast and arrive at the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing. You will then be led into the forest by the park ranger guides for tracking the endangered ape. Your search duration for this gentle giant is not certain as it may take you 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the movement of these gorillas. Once you catch up with them, you are guaranteed a full hour with them as you learn and observe their behavior. You will then return to the lodge and have the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 4: Bwindi NP to Queen Elizabeth NP
After your breakfast, you will drive northwards to Queen Elizabeth NP via Ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions. You will enjoy the Ishasha game drive in search for the tree climbing lions as you look out for other wildlife like the kobs, topis, buffalos and a variety of antelope species grazing in the Ishasha plains. Have lunch and proceed to Mweya reaching in the late afternoon for an evening game drive and later check in at your lodge (Mweya Safari lodge/ Enganzi lodge) for an overnight and dinner.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Afternoon boat cruise
After an early cup of coffee, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura. Your trek may be captivated by the sights of other primates like Black and white colobus monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and a number of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and later embark on a boat cruise along Kazinga channel to have a glimpse of the park’s wildlife variety including Elephants, buffalos, kobs, topis, water bucks, bush bucks, crocodiles and hippos among others that always storm the channel for water in the afternoon. You may also be captivated by fascinating bird species like the kingfishers, pelicans, African martial eagle, African fish eagle, African skimmer and if lucky, the prehistoric looking shoe bill among others.
Day 6: Game drive and transfer back to Kampala
Take an early breakfast and head for Kasenyi trail for a remarkable game drive in search for the parks 100 mammal species. Look out for the early raisers like the lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals among others as they return from their night’s hunt. You may also see herds of buffalos, elephants, bush bucks, water bucks, gazelles, topis, kobs, among others. Return to check out at the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala through Mbarara. With an en route lunch, you will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon for a transfer to Entebbe for your return flight.
