This 5 Days Uganda tour takes you through two of Uganda’s National parks; Murchison Falls National Park and Semuliki National Park. The trip starts with a visit to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area, home to a wide range of flora and fauna including some of the big five. Enjoy game drives, a boat cruise along the Nile and sightseeing within the park before leaving for Semuliki, another interesting hotspot in Western Uganda. The Semuliki Forest is part of the vast Ituri Forest of Congo and is home to various wildlife including primates. Visit the Sempaya hotsprings, local pygmy communities and enjoy night game drives in Semuliki National Park.

Day 1: Murchison Falls National Park
Drive off early to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala via Bombo road. Enjoy the lovely scenes as you head to the park such as the Nakayima tree spotted in Mubende. Branch off at Masindi Hotel for lunch. You will pass through Budongo forest, the biggest Mahogany forest in East Africa and Kaniyo Pabidi which is a lovely eco-tourist site. When you reach the park, drive straight to the Top of the falls, such an attractive site for relaxing and adventure. Camp or sleep at Sambiya Lodge (budget)/ Red Chili (camp) Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury).
Day 2: wildlife safari at Murchison Falls
Depart for an early morning game view drive in the North of the Nile. You are likely to see lions, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. In the afternoon, enjoy the most breath taking activity in the park, launch cruise on the mighty River Nile. Spot schools of hippos, large crocodiles, small herds of buffalo. There is a rich birdlife on the papyrus banks, watch out for the shoebill stork, the most sought after bird in Africa. Day 3: Murchison Falls – Semliki
After breakfast leave for Semliki national Park, another beautiful park worth visiting. Head south west of Uganda; check out lots of beautiful scenes such as the ranges of Mt Rwenzori, the lovely Lake Albert among other things on your way. Semliki is an ornithologist’s haven having about 400 bird species mostly forest birds. There are 300 tree species recorded nowhere else in East Africa and 53 mammal species with 11 diurnal species. During the night go for a spot lit night game drive, only one of its kind in Uganda and check out the slender and white- tailed mongoose, serval cats and diminutive nightjars. Dine and rest at Semliki Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Rwenzori View Guesthouse (budget)
Day 4: “Sempaya hot springs”
Start off with the most eye-catching item in Semliki, the Sempaya hot springs. These natural springs have a geyser shooting up from an 8m-wide hole at a hot temperature. It’s the largest of its kind in the country. Along the same trail, you can recognize quite a number of bird species like blue –breasted kingfisher and Frasier’s ant-thrush and primates like the grey-checked mangabey and red-tailed monkey. Continue to Mungilo waterfall and see more attractive birds specially if you are a birder. Late afternoon go for a boat trip on Lake Albert, an exceptional lake in its own right. Check out the water animals and return to Semliki Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Rwenzori View Guesthouse (budget).
Day 5: return to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and head off for Kampala not forgetting to stopover in Fort Portal for lunch. This marks the end this trip.
