As Uganda reopens for tourism, we introduce to you Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge, a new exquisite Lodge newly opened to serve travelers with first class food and sleeping services at affordable prices. The new lodge is located in Kabarole district in western Uganda roughly 10 kilometers from Fort Portal. The new lodge was officially opened for tourism on 29th June 2020. Few minutes after its official opening, numerous photos of Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge circulated all social media platform giving hope for potential travelers. The new lodge will undeniably put tourism in Fort Portal and the whole of western Uganda to the next level. Based on its standards and pocket friendly charges, Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge will attract a high number of travelers to western Uganda. The magnificent lodge is co owned by a Ugandan entrepreneur named Hashim and an American business Partner. Apparently, the lodge is only open to domestic travels as we wait for reopening of international travels short time to come. The lodge was initially set to officially open in April 2020 but was delayed by the existing Covid19 Pandemic, which put all travels to a stand still. However, Michalowsky the manager at the lodge says that the lockdown helped them to do final paintings and ensure perfection.
The structure of the lodge
Unlike other lodges, Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge is designed in a unique setup made of pods. Pods are new accommodation units, which have internal water closet, shower, kitchen, dining space and floor space. Pods are also called mini lodges and they help to fill up the gap between a camping pod and bedrooms.
Pods give travelers the best viewing experience especially from the rooftop. The pods have big windows give travelers chance to see the sky and beautiful spiral system. Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge is made up of 6 pods named after the stars in the galaxy. Each pod at Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge contains a bath tab, Wardrobe, table and French double bed. Travelers to Aramaga Rift Valley lodge will enjoy the breath taking views, forest, mountains, local communities, rift valley and all other natural landscapes. The lodge is constructed with timber and runs on solar making it eco friendly.

From the time of its official opening, Amagara Rift Valley Lodge has received a positive response from Ugandans especially from Kampala. More so, some people have started making trips rom Kampala to fort portal o enjoy the comfort and ambiance of this amazing lodge.
Capacity of the Lodge & the costs
Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge can accommodate 14 guests per night. However in this lockdown time, the lodge is only open to 10 guests each day. Once international flights reopen and tourism goes back to normal, the lodge will allow the initial 14 people per night. Each night costs $300 inclusive of breakfast, lunch, inner and bed. Also, the cost include transport from Fort portal town to the lodge Interestingly, the lodge is offering a discount to $200 for those visiting in July 2020.
Activities to do from the Lodge
Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge arranges numerous tourist activities around and within Fort Portal and Kabalore districts. The lodge is located a short distance from and to Semliki National Park, Kibale Forest National park and the Rwenzori Mountains. The activities to do while sleeping at Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge include chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, game viewing and bid watching in Semliki Valley National Park, Sempaya hot springs, Bigodi wetland walk, Fort portal city tour and Rwenzori mountaineering among others.
