UGANDA SAFARI - 9 DAYS / 8 NIGHTS
Expect to visit Uganda’s prime national parks that include, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi impenetrable Forest national Parks.
Activities: This Uganda Safari will enable you to undertake the Gorilla tracking in the Bwindi forests, chimp trekking in the Chambura Gorge, and a game drive in the Murchison and Queen Elizabeth national parks.
When to go: All the above activities can be undertaken any time throughout the year.
DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1 Beginning of the Uganda Safari
On arrival at Entebbe Airport our tour guide will immediately transfer you to Entebbe Botanical Beach Hotel or similar other for your dinner and an overnight on full board basis.
Day 2 – Visiting the Magnificent Murchison Falls
After breakfast transfer northwards to Murchison Falls national park en route Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see the rare rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi can suffice. Access Murchison Falls national park, the largest protected area in Uganda with 3,840 sq km. Immediately move to the Falls and marvel at natural beauty at this point. The river, at this spot compresses into a narrow gorge of over 1 km wide down through a 7 metre canyon that forms a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the wonders of the Nile River! Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chilli Rest Camp (FB)
Day 3 - The river Nile boat cruise
After an early breakfast, tour the Northern part with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, go for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunderous uproar. Along the falls water birds and mammals are in great numbers. Return to the lodge for your dinner and an overnight on full board basis.
Day 4 - Fort Portal overlooking Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls NP heading Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Enjoy lunch en route at Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal town. Thence proceed to Mweya peninsula in the Queen Elizabeth national park. A game drive towards the Mweya Safari Lodge is irresistible.
Have a dinner and on overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury) / Institute of ecology – Mweya for mid-range and budget
Day 5 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - the Pearl of Uganda
After an early morning breakfast, undertake a morning game drive that enable you to view early morning predators such as cheetahs, leopards, and lions, different antelope species, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, warthogs, waterbucks, etc. For birders, QE national park is a birders’ paradise with a variety of migratory and Albertine Rift Endemics. Dinner & overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Mweya Hostel (FB)
Day 6 – Chimp trekking – Kyambura Gorge
After a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for excellent game viewing and birding return to the lodge for lunch and proceed to Chambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking. If time is on your side you can go for a forest walk in the Maramagambo to the bat cave in search of the pythons in that cave. Dinner and an overnight at Jacana Safari Lodge / Mweya Safari Lodge - FB
Day 7 Ishasha Sector tree-climbing lions
After an early breakfast transfer to Bwindi impenetrable Forest np through the Ishasha – the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth np for viewing tree-climbing lions which are common in this place. Proceed to Bwindi for your lunch at Bwindi Gorilla Resort. Take an evening community walk to the Batwa (Pygmy) for cultural entertainment. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community – (FB)
Day 8- Uganda Gorilla Tracking – Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Trek
After an early morning breakfast walk to Buhoma Gorilla Tracking headquarters for a briefing from the rangers who will lead you through the gorilla trekking trails deep into the Bwindi rain forest. If your lucky it may take you less than 2 hours to encounter the habituated gorilla family in the forest. The experience of meeting these awesome primates is so overwhelming. Return to the lodge for your lunch after the primates tracking
Day 9 End of the Uganda Safari
After breakfast transfer to Kampala with lunch en route in Mbarara and arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon for a city tour. Have your dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel or similar other for luxury and for mid-range retire at Tourist Hotel – Kampala - FB
Day 10 Departure
Our tour guide will transfer you to Entebbe international Airport for your return back to your home country.
