Day 01: Depart Ngamba Island for chimp viewing
Arrive Entebbe, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the UWEC for briefing before you take a boat to Ngamba Island. While on the boat, you will cross the equator as you head to Ngamba Island which is in Mukono district. Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary has a bout 33 orphaned chimps which are being taken care of. Afternoon return to the main land and overnight at Sheraton Hotel or Tourist Hotel.
Day 02: Lake Mburo Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Depart from Kampala at 7:00am and head towards western Uganda. A brief stop at the Equator allows time for photographs. The journey affords images from the vehicle of the long horned Ankole cattle, the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of the region, and beautiful panoramas that are part of Kabale District. We have a lunch break en route. Drive direct to the park and arrive late evening. Dinner an dover night and Gorilla Resort. This beautiful camp has great views and is small and personal. Meals are a delight! The tents have ensuite facilities and are very roomy inside accommodating two very large beds.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Gorilla Forest
This day is dedicated for gorilla trekking into the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where your permits are held.
An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of Mountain Gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare, only 600 remaining. You will get within metres of the family, and be privileged to spend time amongst them. Returning to the camp for a late lunch, we have an opportunity for forest walks with the guides, or just to relax. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours is not uncommon – at relatively high altitude. After trekking you will return to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for your dinner.
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Forest to Kampala
Take morning break fast and depart to Kampala arriving late in the evening.

GORILLA TRACKING IN UGANDA

Access to the Nkuringo group is on a very steep trail. Mgahinga, in Uganda, is the best place to appreciate the unique Virunga volcanoes. You can also climb a volcano or go for a nature walk, visit the endangered golden monkey or go birding in the unique Virunga volcanoes.
